Springtime 2009 I spent more than a week together with Alister in norhtern Sikhim. He show us the most fantastic places in the Himalayas. We spent 3 amazing weeks with Alister as our guide in the foothills of the Himalayas.
We are not experienced independant travellers, and would never have considered going to India on our own.
Alister was just wonderful,planning and arranging everything before our arrival. He wanted to know what we would like to see and do in order to prepare a suitable itinerary.This agreed,we did not need to worry about anything.He met us as we arrived at the airport and took care of everything for us for 21 days.
He anticipated all our needs and requirements. A charming, helpful, knowledgeable young man.( from advising us what to eat, how it was prepared,to local customs and traditions, history and the flora) Nothing was too much trouble. We were able to stop and botanise,enjoy the views or walk as we wished.
We felt we saw the real Sikkim, stunning scenery, delightful friendly local people. Alister had a very natural manner,getting on with everyone, which allowed us to talk to them and understand more of their lives, growing their food and keeping animals..
Hotels were always among the best the area had to offer. All were on suite and clean with friendly helpful staff. Some were just AMAZING. Wow!
Food . We ate all the local cuisine and loved it all. Tasty and flavourful but not hot.
Our passion was for the trees and plants of the area, all so new to us.Alister shared this love as well and was keen to show us as much as possible.

We had the most wonderful trip through the hills of West Bengal and through Sikkim with Alister of Nature Himalaya. Transport, accomodations in unique and interesting boutique hotels and inns, and meals were all arranged leaving us with no worries or hassles. Alister's knowledge of local customs, culture, and particularly the botany was extensive and so appreciated. We had lots of opportunities to make unscheduled hikes, nature walks, and even walks through villages. I would repeat this holiday at a moment's notice and would recommend Alister and Nature Himalaya to any interested traveller to this region.
